Merz b. Schwanen 2S18 Heavyweight Long-Sleeve T-Shirt in White is the ultimate cold-weather knit tee. Made from a thick 14oz loopwheel fabric, using 100% organic cotton, these are one of the toughest loopwheel tees on the market. The heavyweight long-sleeve also features a unique slub texture that is a result of their vintage loopwheel machines. Coming in their Relaxed Fit, these have a wider fit through the body, making this a little more versatile for a wider range of bodies.
Note that due to the traditional manufacturing processes, sometimes the White tees will show varied creases throughout the t-shirt, which can be permanent (see vertical crease line coming down the middle of the model's chest). If you prefer a t-shirt with a cleaner face / appearance, we recommend looking elsewhere or perhaps at the darker colored 2S18 tees.
Note: This is Merz's Relaxed Fit, which fits a little larger than their Classic Fit. We recommend still taking one size up for a relaxed fitted look, but you may be able to take your typical tops size (rather than sizing up) if you want a slim fit or if you are on the smaller end of your size. However, double check the measurements for the chest and length to make sure you've got the right size. The garment will shrink about 1" in length after wash, with less shrinkage in the chest. Chest will stretch back out after wear. Cold wash, hang dry.
Model: 6'0'' and 175 lbs (currently closer to 170 lbs) wearing size 5 | M (his typical American brand size) for a slim fit that hugs the body and can be a little restrictive in putting on and taking off. Model can also wear size 6 | L for a relaxed fit. Note that the shirt will shrink a little in the chest, and about 1" in length after wash.
Measurement Note: Due to the irregularities characteristic of loopwheelers, there will be slight variations within each size. Accordingly, the measurements posted are general targets that we've found to be the average or each size. If you are more particular about the sizing, or know that you need one with a specific measurement within a size, feel free to leave a note at check-out indicating your measurement preference. In general, we do not find the irregularities significant enough to impact the size you should wear.
