TCB Late S40's Jacket in a 13.5oz Indigo Denim is a reproduction of late 1940's WWII-era jackets. This medium weight denim is a custom woven denim featuring four different types of yarns and thicknesses, to give it an irregular hand. Details unique to the Late S40's model are the misaligned box stitches across the front, an abnormally low leather patch sewn on the back shoulder, and chainstitch yellow-black threads on the waist band, and iron donut buttons. These are all some of the quirks that make TCB what it is and what they are known for - true reproductions of vintage-era pieces, imperfections and all.
Note: This jacket has been one-washed to remove most shrinkage. Because off how the TCB Late S40s Jacket is constructed with the front pleats, the chest measurements are actually smaller than what the jacket can truly accommodate. In other words, the posted chest measurements could be increased by 1-2" as the pleats will allow the chest to expand if needed. As a result, we generally recommend sizing up one from your typical American brand size for a slim fit, or take two sizes up for a slightly roomier fit with room to layer underneath (heavier sweaters, sweatshirts, hoodies, etc).
Model: 6'0" and 175 lbs wearing size 42 | XL for a slim but still pretty comfortable fit. There is probably minimal layering capability underneath, other than a t-shirt or a light-to-medium weight sweatshirt. For a more comfortable fit and more room to layer, size 44 | XXL also works and doesn't look oversized at all.
