The Iron Heart 8oz Sateen/Primaloft Winter Parka Jacket uses an 8oz Japanese Sateen Cloth for the outer shell, giving it a more traditional / vintage-military appearance than their previous technical-styled mountain parkas. Iron Heart maintains the Primaloft lining to ensure insulation and windproofing, a core feature of Iron Heart's Parkas. These Parka Jackets feature dual-entry handwarmer and storage pockets, along with a full hood and integrated neck warmer for a solid winter jacket that you'll travel well with. This jacket offers an excellent mix of heritage and modern function. Finished with ribbed cuffs and adjustable drawcords at the hood and waist, it’s built for cold, dry days.
This mountain parka is well-suited for freezing temperatures with some light-to-medium layering underneath, and likely can take you down further if you thermalize your inner layers. This jacket should serve those well who tend to run cold during the winter months and need a solid layer to block the winds.
Note: These generally run a tad large, so those who are slimmer and/or on the smaller end of their size, can probably take their typical tops size, instead of 1 size up like you might do in Iron Heart flannels. If you have a larger frame or are on the larger end of your size, you can take the same size as your Iron Heart flannels.
Measurement Note: Due to the raglan sleeve construction, the sleeve measurement is measured from the seam where the neck meets the shoulder. To obtain a similar measurement on your jacket, measure from the neck seam and go along the shoulders, down to the sleeve opening.
Model: 6'0'' and 175 lbs, wearing size M (his TTS) for a fit that is neither too slim, nor too relaxed, and able to layer a flannel underneath. Model can also wear L (his typical Iron Heart flannel size) for a more relaxed look and significant layering underneath. Model prefers the size M as it provides enough space for decent layering and fits well everywhere (with a henley and flannel underneath, bending elbows is just a little snug in the arms, but not super tight).
