Studio D'Artisan's "S SD-401" No. 100 WWII Type I Selvedge Denim Jacket is their reproduction of WWII-era Type I denim jackets. A nod towards the historicity of the time with material rationing, these jackets remove the flap chest pocket in favor of flat pocket, removal of a front tack button from five to four, and the iconic laurel wreath iron buttons of the time. SDA also reproduces the rough sewing and and uneven stitching of the period - a result of practicality and labor diversions. The jacket features classic Type I details such as the front pleats and a back cinch buckle, all in a slightly boxy and cropped fit.
Note: Generally runs small, recommend taking at least one size up, depending on if you are on the smaller end of your size or not. If you are on the smaller end of your size and prefer a slim fit, it's possible you can take your typical American brand size. Otherwise, most folks should size up at least one.
Model: 6'0" and 175 lbs, wearing size 40 | L for a comfortable and roomy fit, although cropped (as intended for a Type I jacket).
