The Studio D'Artisan 1950s Jeans is made from their original 12.5oz selvedge denim, woven on vintage Toyoda G3 power looms. These jeans have been given a thorough "used" wash and distressing to capture the unique fading that characterized the era with a distinct oxidized look. The result of the G3 weaving technique, which has been manually adjusted, is a unique unevenness and rough texture that is difficult to produce with modern machines. The silhouette is a regular straight fit that is in style now just as it was in the 50s.
Note: These are unsanforized but one-washed, so expect little to no shrinkage with a cold wash and hang/lay-flat dry. With a warmer wash / soak, you may get additional shrinkage. Denim will stretch about 1" in the waist after breaking in.
Model: 6'0'' and 175 lbs (currently closer to 165 lbs), with moderate "lifter" thighs, wearing size 32 for a snug fit on the waist and a comfortable straight-fit through the legs.
