Viberg Service Boot Brogue Cap-Toe Whiskey Regency Calf is built on the 2040 last and using a Commando Sole. This leather comes from the Charles F. Stead tannery in the U.K., and has a luxe, smooth, slight plus feel to the leather. Calf leather tends to naturally be more malleable and soft, and this pair is no different. Select boots may have more notable grain and natural markings than others, as seen in the photos below.
The Service Boot is based off their original model, first produced in 1931, and ultimately became a standard pattern and style for many countries during WWII as their standard issue military boot.
Sizing: The Viberg 2040 Last is based on the Munson last with a wider toe box (E width) and a slight toe bump. While the toe box is wider than the 2030, the 2040 Last does have a narrow heel and waist due to the intended anatomical design. We generally recommend sizing down 1 from your Brannock size; or taking the same size as you do in your 2030 or 1035 Service Boots. However, if you have a voluminous heel/waist, you may find that you need to size up 0.5 from your typical 2030 or 1035 Service Boot.
