The Viberg Service Boot in Whiskey Phoenix from Charles F. Stead (CFS) Tannery, built on the 2040 Last (E Width) and Ridgeway soles. The Whiskey Phoenix leather is a thick leather with a somewhat waxy feel. With slight reddish undertones, as you wear this pair those reddish tones will likely start to reveal themselves more through the creases and scuffs. An excellent patina-worthy pair.
The Service Boot is based off their original model, first produced in 1931, and ultimately became a standard pattern and style for many countries during WWII as their standard issue military boot.
Sizing: The Viberg 2040 Last is based on the Munson last with a wider toe box (E width) and a slight toe bump. While the toe box is wider than the 2030, the 2040 Last does have a narrow heel and waist due to the intended anatomical design. We generally recommend sizing down 1 from your Brannock size; or taking the same size as you do in your 2030 or 1035 Service Boots. However, if you have a voluminous heel/waist, you may find that you need to size up 0.5 from your typical 2030 or 1035 Service Boot.
